Australia Wi-Fi 6E Allowed Frequency

On March 5, 2022, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has updated the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class License 2022 (No. 1). The major modified item is the Wi-Fi 6E allocation frequency 5925-6425MHz and limitations for Radio Local Area Networks transmitters.

Azerbaijan Released The Request to Suspend 2G Network

On April 1, 2022, The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced "Azerbaijan Accreditation Center" with a request to suspend the issuance of certificates of conformity to mobile devices supporting 2G network and the A5/1 encryption algorithm. A5/1 encryption algorithm is operating only on the 2G network. Due to the introduction of more modern technologies, and services of quality improvement, mobile devices supporting the A5/1 encryption algorithm, operating only on the 2G network would meet some troubleshoots while using, so the issuance of certificates of conformity to mobile devices operating on the "2G" and supporting only the encryption algorithm A5/1 is not considered appropriate.

SII Released SI 62133 for Secondary Cells and Batteries Used in Portable Appliances

On November 29, 2021, the Standards Institution of Israel (SII) has released Circular No. 9763, which issued the SII standards for Safety requirement for portable sealed secondary cells, and for batteries used in portable appliances as shown in above table. Both standards will come into force on May 28, 2022.

TEC Announced excluded 5 category products from the scope of MTCTE

On April 30, 2022, Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has announced excluded 5 category products from the scope of the MTCTE. After discussion between Department of Telecom (DOT) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), to avoid the industry increases the compliance cost which have overlap certification for same category of product, so above mention products are not required to comply with TEC certification.

The Gazette Notification in this regard will be issued in due course.

Cellular Phone, Handheld Computer, Tablet and WiFi Modem Must Follow TKDN 35%

On April 8, 2022, SDPPI has released Announcement No. 213/DJSDPPI.5/SP.04.09/04/2022. According to the regulation No. 13 (NOMOR 13 TAHUN 2021), 4G LTE or 5G NR cellular phone, handheld computer, tablet computer and WiFi modem are required to follow the Domestic Component Level value (TKDN) of at least 35%. This regulation was enforced on April 18, 2022.

Moldova Released Amendment to The Government Decision No. 34 Of 2019

On April 1, 2022, Government of Moldova has released an amendment to the Government Decision No. 34 of 2019 "Provision of radio equipment on the market", which modified point 3-3 to "In the presence of the CE marking on radio equipment, SM conformity marking is not necessary to be affixed on the same equipment". This amendment was enforced on the day of its releasement in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova which is March 30, 2022.

Philippines DTI Released New Technical Regulation on Energy Consuming Products

Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has released the Department Administrative Order (DAO) 22-01:2022, which provided the new technical regulation prescribing the mandatory product certification of Energy Consuming Products (ECPs), which took effect on March 5, 2022. The PS License or ICC Certificate shall only be issued upon determination of compliance of the ECPs to the safety and performance requirements prescribed by this order.

Meanwhile, it also expanded the scope of implementation for products covered under mandatory certification and shall entail the inclusion of the following in the BPS List of Products Under Mandatory Certification:

  • Non-inverter, window-type and split-type (wall-mounted and floor-standing) air conditioners with cooling capacity above 36,000 kJ/hr. up to 50,000 kJ/hr
  • Inverter type air conditioner with cooling capacity above 38,000 kJ/hr. up to 50,000 kJ/hr
  • Cassette-type and ceiling suspended type air conditioners with cooling capacity up to 50,000 kJ/hr
  • Refrigerator with storage capacity above 567 liters (20 cu. ft.) up to 600 liters (21.19 cu. ft.)
  • Television sets with display size above 1400 mm (55 inches) up to 1524 mm (60 inches)
  • Self-ballasted LED Lamps with rated wattage above 30 W up to 60 W

To provide local manufacturers and importers ample time to comply with the abovementioned certification requirements for all covered ECPs, market monitoring and enforcement will come into force on September 5, 2023, which is 18 months from the effectivity of DAO 22-01:2022.

EEC Postponed the Enforcement Date of TR EAEU 048/2019

On April 18, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has published Decision No. 50. This Decision has postponed the technical regulation "On the Requirements for The Energy Efficiency of Energy-Consuming Devices" (EAEU TR 048/2019) from September 1, 2022 to September 1, 2025.

On December 12, 2021, the Vietnam Government released Decree No. 111/2021/ND-CP, which amended and supplemented a number of articles in Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP regarding to the label requirements for goods entering into Vietnam market.

 

Vietnam MIC Released QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT (Draft)

MIC has just published the new version of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT of EMC. The new standard will come into force from July 01, 2023 and will replace QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT.

 

Vietnam MIC Published 5G NR QCVN 129:2021/BTTTT

Based on the Circular issued by MIC, the National Technical Regulation on Non-Standalone 5G User Equipment-Radio Access, standard QCVN 129:2021/BTTTT will be taking effect from July 01, 2022.

The Ministry of Telecom and Information Technology (MTIT) of Yemen has recently extended the certificate validity from 1 year to 2 years. The new certificate validity applies to all ongoing applications as well as new applications.
