No. 31/2008 The objective of the consultation is to collect comments on the new exemption request no. 5.

The results of this consultation will be forwarded to the Technical Adaptation Committee of Directive 2002/95/EC and the Commission services will provide an account of the information received.
On the basis of Article 5(1)(b) of Directive 2002/95/EC, the Commission has received from industry an additional request for applications to be exempted from the requirements of the RoHS Directive. This consultation is run by Öko-Institut and Fraunhofer IZM, and please notes that the role of Öko-Institut and Fraunhofer IZM is only to collect and evaluate the information provided by stakeholders and not take any decision.

Consultation document Guidelines for comments General questionnaire The consultation starts on 13 August 2008 and will run for eight weeks until 8 October 2008. Comments submitted during the consultation will also be posted on the official website under request 5. Further exchange with stakeholders will be held after the consultation has ended for those issues where further need for information and/or need for (technical) discussion has been identified.
