No. 01/ 2010 Since REACH regulation went into effect on 2007.06.01, the REACH’s impact on all manufacturing industries here in Taiwan was tremendous. Under European buyers’ request, producers in TW have started to conduct surveys on SVHC as well as Dangerous Substances listed in Annex 17 of REACH regulation so as to find out if exported products meet the criteria. However, these surveys did not go very smoothly due to several reasons, i.e. frequent updates of REACH regulation has not been easy to comply with and the cost of testing builds up as additional restricted substances are added to the lists irregularly. As a result, manufacturers cannot be sure if products exported comply with REACH regulation or not.
Recently, member states of EEA have started to audit on-shelf products in the EEA market and issues warnings to the public. Products that violate REACH regulation are posted on RAPEX at a regular basis. In order to provide the urgently needed assistance that article producers desperately required, SGS has created a cost saving and quick service "REACH Compliance Assessment Report" to verify if your products comply with REACH. The REACH Compliance Assessment Report will be a good business tool to let your buyers know your products are REACH Compliance.
