Commission Publishes Regulation Amending REACH Annex XVII
No. 08/2010
The Commission has published a Regulation (EU) No 276/2010 in the Official Journal amending REACH Annex XVII covering dichloromethane(Decision No 455/2009/EC), lamp oils and grill lighter fluids
(Commission Decision 2009/424/EC), and organostannic compounds(Commission Decision 2009/425/EC). Annex XVII covers restrictions on the manufacture, marketing and use of certain dangerous substances, preparations and articles.
Under the REACH Regulation, a restriction can be introduced if a substance poses an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. REACH now contains already 59 entries (dangerous substances, preparations and articles) where the use of chemicals is in one way or the other restricted on the basis of earlier legislation. These entries are listed in the Annex XVII of the regulation.
SGS, the world's leading third party for testing, has created a cost saving and quick service "REACH Compliance Assessment Report" to verify if your products comply with REACH. The REACH Compliance Assessment Report will be a good business tool to let your buyers know your products are REACH Compliance. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
