No. 02/2011 Greenpeace issued the "Green Electronics Survey" where 21 major electronics companies were invited to participate in. It evaluates the desktop computers, notebook computers, netbooks, computer monitors, mobile phones, smartphones, and TVs that are currently on the market in the first quarter of 2011, and then selects the most environmentally friendly products.
In computer monitors, Asus’ VW-247H-HF display came out tops with a highest score, 7.50 points out of 10. Its notebook computer, UL30A, also won number one. As in netbooks, TM8172 from Acer topped the rankings. HP Compaq’s 6005 Pro Ultra-slim was selected as the greenest desktop computers while Sharp Corporation’s LC-52SE1 topped the television category. In smartphones, Sony Ericsson’s Aspen had the highest score, and Samsung’s GT-S75550 was selected the most environmentally friendly mobile phone.
