No. 15/2011

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published proposals to identify twenty chemicals as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) and possible candidates for authorization on 29 August 2011. Two substances of which (aluminosilicate refactory ceramic fibres and zirconia aluminosilicate refactory ceramic fibres) are already included in the ECHA candidate list. The proposals were put forward by several Member States and ECHA (at the request of the European Commission).

During this public consultation period, ECHA invites interested parties to provide comments on these proposals by 13 October 2011. After the consultation, a decision will be made by the Member State Committee as to whether the substance will be added to the REACH Candidate List, which currently has 53 substances on it.

SGS, the world's leading third party for testing, has created a cost saving and quick service "REACH Compliance Assessment Report" to verify if your products comply with REACH. The REACH Compliance Assessment Report will be a good business tool to let your buyers know your products are REACH Compliance. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
