The European Commission published Regulation (EU) No 126/2013 in the Official Journal on February 14 2013 for amendments of Annex XVII of REACH which covers restrictions on the use and marketing of certain hazardous chemicals. One major change concerns entry 42 (SCCPs) is removed to the persistent organic pollutants (POPs regulation); revised entry 6, 16, 17, 28 to 30, 40, 47, 56 and Appendix 4,6,10. For methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), three CAS and EC numbers are to be added to the regulation to ensure that all isomers are included. In addition, four new standards relating to testing methods for azo colourants and azo dyes have also been adopted. This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the office Journal of the European Union. REACH regulations in Annex 17 of the list of restrictions reduced to 58 from 59 now.
