DG Environment (European Commission) has commissioned the Austrian Environment Ministry (Umweltbundesamt) to study for the review of the List of Restricted Substances under RoHS 2 Directive.

During the 3rd consultation the draft methodology manual for the identification and assessment of substances for a potential restriction under RoHS 2 will be put up for discussion. The methodology developed within this study will be used in future reviews of the list of restricted substances under RoHS as requested in accordance to Article 6 of the Directive 2011/65/EU.

Four of the discussed high priority hazardous substances name HBCDD, DEHP, BBP and DBP. A concluding report on the methodology is due to be published in 2013.

The duration of the project is one year from 21 Nov. 2012 onwards:
