Vietnam (MPS) issued Circular No. 48/2026/TT-BCA, introducing QCVN 11:2026/BCA – Basic Cybersecurity Requirements for IP Surveillance Cameras, which came into effect on July 1, 2026. Replacing QCVN 135:2024/BTTTT, this regulation applies to all businesses manufacturing, importing, and selling IP surveillance cameras in Vietnam and transfers regulatory responsibilities from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

Indonesia BPS Implements KBLI 2025; Failure to Update May Impact DJID Certification Applications

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) released the “Indonesian Standard Classification of Business Fields 2025” (KBLI 2025), which has been implemented in the Online Single Submission (OSS) platform since June 18, 2026. Local distributors or importers that have not updated to “KBLI 2025” will be unable to submit DJID certification applications, potentially causing delays and affecting product market entry plans. Companies are advised to confirm the update status with local partners to ensure compliance readiness.

Thailand TISI Approves Draft Mandatory Safety Standards for Six Solar Product Categories

The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) held committee meetings on June 23 and July 21, 2026, to continue advancing the adoption of mandatory safety standards for six solar-related product categories by approving draft criteria for product licensing and surveillance. The products covered include:

  • Photovoltaic (PV) Modules (TIS 61730 Part 2-2567)
  • Photovoltaic (PV) Cables (TIS 62930-2564)
  • Secondary Lithium Batteries for Energy Storage Systems (TIS 63056-2567)
  • Photovoltaic (PV) Inverters (TIS 2603 Part 2-2556)
  • Low-Voltage Fuses for Photovoltaic (PV) Systems (TIS 60269 Part 6-2567)
  • Circuit Breakers (TIS 60947 Part 2-25XX)

The above standards will not become officially mandatory until the relevant legislative procedures have been completed.

Vietnam MPS Issues Mandatory Cybersecurity Standard for IP Surveillance Cameras

Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) issued Circular No. 48/2026/TT-BCA, introducing QCVN 11:2026/BCA – Basic Cybersecurity Requirements for IP Surveillance Cameras, which came into effect on July 1, 2026. Replacing QCVN 135:2024/BTTTT, this regulation applies to all businesses manufacturing, importing, and selling IP surveillance cameras in Vietnam and transfers regulatory responsibilities from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS). To enhance the cybersecurity of IP surveillance cameras, the regulation requires products to incorporate the following key security features:

  • A unique default password mechanism,
  • Identity authentication and access control,
  • Secure communications and data encryption,
  • Secure firmware and software update mechanisms,
  • Protection against unauthorized access and common cyberattacks, and
  • Logging and system integrity protection.

In addition, the medium and high-risk IP surveillance cameras are required to complete the applicable conformity assessment and compliance procedures to be legally placed in the Vietnamese market. The detailed product scope and implementation requirements will be announced separately by the MPS.
