To improve approvals and management of telecommunication equipment in Taiwan, NCC held a meeting on August 1st, 2024, and made the following decisions
Starting August 20th, 2024
Confidentiality for complete modules / limited modules and their host platforms shall be applied together in conjunction. If no confidentiality is sought for the module, host platforms using such module shall neither be kept confidential.
Photos of the equipment’s outer appearance shall be taken based on a “new device.” For telecom equipment (including the final product) of different outer appearances, colors, or materials, the rules of the 6-surface colored photos shall be adhered to.
Applications for registering platforms with a complete module shall include a video file and an affidavit letter. The video shall begin by showing the front side of the final product (with clearly discernable features) and continues with the housing removed showing the internal circuit board including the complete RF module (components) (the main components, including the complete RF module (components), of the internal circuit board shall be clearly displayed. The affidavit letter shall be signed by the certificate holder.
For any telecom equipment with wireless charging capability, the applicant shall submit a type-approved wireless charger to be inspected by the test lab in conjunction to confirm that all relevant technical standards are complied with.
Starting November 2nd, 2024
All local manufactured telecom equipment applying for compliance approval shall include a “proof of manufacture authorization” by the NCC.
