E-Micromobility and Battery Certification Scope for Additional NSW Requirements Expanded
NSW Government updated the safety standards for lithium-ion e-micromobility devices on May 23, 2025, as governed by the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017. This update focuses on electrical safety and refines mandatory requirements for products such as e-bikes, e-scooters, e-skateboards, hoverboards, and the lithium-ion batteries used to power these devices. By August 2025, testing and certification will be mandatory, and by February 2026, the labeling requirement will go into effect. All the Manufacturers and suppliers must ensure that their products comply with regulatory requirements.
Burundi
Burundi ACRT Releases Order for Radio Equipment and Terminal Devices
ACRT published Ministerial Order No. 580/01 DU 17/04/2025 on May 22, 2025. This order regulates all radio equipment and terminal devices that can be connected to public networks. It requires manufacturers, importers, and distributors to ensure that their products comply with EU technical standards and essential requirements. Prior to being placed on the market, products must obtain type approval from the ACRT. To combat the proliferation of counterfeit, substandard, or modified radio equipment and terminal devices, the ACRT will conduct regular inspections and prohibit the importation, storage, and sale of unauthorized products.
Chile
Chile SUBTEL Releases Resolution 737 Exenta to Exempt SRDs from Type Approval
SUBTEL released Resolution 737 Exenta on May 22, 2025, amending Resolution No. 1985 Exenta of 2017 concerning technical standards for Short Range Devices (SRD). The update introduces significant regulatory changes affecting the certification process for SRDs. SUBTEL will no longer issue approval certificates for most SRDs, with the sole exception of Medical Implant Communication Systems (MICS). Instead, a new compliance mechanism will be implemented, requiring manufacturers or local importers to include a QR code (minimum size: 1 cm x 1 cm) on the packaging. This code will direct the consumers to a Spanish-language website featuring the product and manufacturer’s information, technical specifications, and a declaration of conformity specifically drafted for Chilean regulations. This resolution will take effect on February 22, 2026.

MRA for Telecommunication Device Test Laboratories between Indonesia and South Korea Established
As of May 27, 2025, Indonesia and South Korea have officially initiated the implementation of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for telecommunication device test laboratories. Test reports of telecommunication devices tested in registered South Korean laboratories can be used for certifications in Indonesia without the need to perform re-testing, and vice versa.
Indonesia KOMDIGI Plans In-country Testing for All Telecommunication Devices
KOMDIGI issued a press release on June 6, 2025, announcing its goal to conduct nearly all telecommunication device testing domestically by the end of 2026.

RRA released the Announcement No. 2025-41 on June 5, 2025, to solicit public comments on a draft revision of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Test Methods. The main changes are as follows:
- KS X 3124:2020 (ETSI EN 301 489-1:2017) changes to KS X 3124:2024 (ETSI EN 301 489-1:2019)
- KS X 3126:2020 (ETSI EN 301 489-17:2009) changes to KS X 3126:2024 (ETSI EN 301 489-17 V3.3.1:2024)
