RSS-252 for ITS OBUs Updated to Issue 3
On December 12, 2025, ISED published RSS-252 Issue 3, Intelligent Transportation Systems' (ITS) On-Board Units (OBUs) in the 5,895-5,925 MHz Band to replace RSS-252 Issue 2. The main changes are as follows:
- The channel bandwidth may be 10, 20, or 30 MHz.
- Clarified that transmitter power applies on a per-channel basis.
- Modified the unwanted emission limits to align with the FCC unwanted emissions requirements for C-V2X devices.

EN 300 220-2 V3.3.1 for SRDs Operating in Frequency Range 25-1,000 MHz Harmonized
On December 11, 2025, the EU Commission published Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/2499 to enter EN 300 220-2 V3.3.1 Short Range Devices (SRD) operating in the frequency range 25 MHz to 1,000 MHz with power levels ranging up to 500 mW e.r.p. into the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union), thereby harmonizing this standard. The withdrawal of EN 300 220-2 V3.1.1 from the OJEU is currently being deferred to allow manufacturers sufficient time to carry out any adaptations in relation to their radio equipment that is covered by this standard. The main changes are as follows:
- Equipment transmitting analog voice is now covered.
- Clarified that the concept of Operating Channel applies to all equipment.
- Separated the transmitter frequency stability requirement from the maximum occupied bandwidth requirement.
- Clarified the spectrum mask at the permitted frequency band edges requirement.
- Added receiver parameters according to ETSI guide ETSI EG 203336 (V1.2.1).
- Added tests for timing compliance of equipment using polite spectrum access.
- Added temperature range categories for extreme temperature tests.
