MCMC Opens Wi-Fi 6E Spectrum

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released the announcement Class Assignment No.1 of 2022 on February 5, 2022, for Short-Range Devices, such as Wi-Fi 6E utilizing the 5,925-6,425 MHz frequency band can now be certified. The allowed frequency bands and maximum power are as follows:

NTA Released Draft Regulatory Framework for IoT/M2M Communication”

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has held a public consultation on the “Draft Regulatory Framework for IoT/M2M Communication” on December 2, 2021. The draft covers the issuance of licenses to IoT and M2M service providers, spectrum distribution and data security. Under the proposed regulation, the IoT/M2M service providers shall not install or connect any terminal equipment unless it is approved by the NTA.

EEC Approved the List of Products Subject to TR EAEU 048/2019

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has published the Decision No. 23 on February 11, 2022, in which approves the list of products subject to mandatory assessment of compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union "On The Requirements For The Energy Efficiency Of Energy-Consuming Devices" (TR EAEU 048/2019). The technical regulation will be entered into force in September 2022.

Vanuatu TRBR Released Proposed Spectrum for IMT 2020 5G

The Telecommunications, Radiocommunications & Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR) in Vanuatu has released “Propose Spectrum Identified for IMT 2020 (5G) in Vanuatu” on December 21, 2021.

In consistent with ITU WRC-19 Global IMT Band identification, bands identified for IMT 2020 (5G) are in the Mid-Frequency band and High-Frequency band.

Mid-Frequency Bands

  • 2600 MHz (2500-2690 MHz)
  • 3.5 GHz (3400-3600 MHz)

High-Frequency Bands (mmWave)

  • 26 GHz (24.25-27.5 GHz)
  • 40 GHz (37-43.5 GHz)
  • 66-71 GHz
