Brazil ANATEL Streamlined Renewal Deadline Alert

The deadline for ANATEL streamlined COVID renewal (Official letter 233/21) is approaching and ANATEL has no intention to postpone it again. Certificates that valid until July 31, 2022 can still be renewed through streamlined process by waiving testing, applications must be submitted to ANATEL by July 31, 2022.

After that date, even the certificate expires within the period stipulated by ANATEL, the simplified process will no longer be applicable.

GB/T 9254.1-2021 New EMC Standard Update Requirements

On June 10, 2021, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) released new requirements based on《Technical Resolution on the Implementation Method of GB/T 9254.1-2021 Standard Version Change Certification》which released by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) TC 10 EMC Technical Expert Team. The main points are as follows:  

  • Until June 30, 2022, enterprises can choose to apply certification under the new standard or the old standard
  • From July 1, 2022, the new application shall only be applied and certified under GB/T 9254.1-2021
  • For certificate holders whose products have been certified under the old standard, should apply certificate upgrade to the new standard, and should complete the product confirmation and certificate replacement work according to the TC10 technical resolution. The deadline for the certificate upgrade will be notified separately
  • For certified products that have been released from the factory to the market before July 1, 2022, and will no longer be produced, certificate upgrade is not required

WPC Released G.S.R. 347(E)

On May 13, 2022, The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) in India released Gazette G.S.R. 347(E) for canceling the maximum broadband limit of low power radio frequency device in the frequency band 433.05-434.79 MHz. In the previous Gazettes, the limit was restricted to 10 kHz to apply for WPC type approval, but the restriction has now been lifted. Existing applied certificates remain valid and does not require reapplication.

 

TEC Exempts 5 Products from MTCTE Scope

On May 24, 2022, Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) officially announced to exempt the following products from MTCTE scope.

  • Mobile user equipment/mobile handset
  • Server
  • Smart Watch
  • Smart Camera
  • Point of Sale devices

 

TEC Extended the Date of Mandatory Certification for Phase III & Phase IV Products

On June 13, 2022, Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) announced to extend the date of mandatory certification of all products covering under Phase III and Phase IV from July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023.

MTCTE has also extended the last date of accepting ILAC Test Reports from Non-border sharing countries from June 30, 2022 to June 30, 2023 for the products which were listed in the Annexure II of the previously released notification.

ANRCETI Released Amendment to The Decision No. 126 Of 2009

On March 31, 2022, National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) in Moldova released an amendment to the Decision No. 126 of 2009 "Provision of radio equipment on the market". The main changes are as below table.

CRA has released an updated QNFAP, including the National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT), as well as the list of frequency bands for SRD applications and the list of specific assignments, etc.

EEC Amended the TR CU 004/2011" On the Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment"

On June 10, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) released Decision No. 90, which amended the technical regulation " On the Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment" (TR CU 004/2011). The main changes are as follows:

  • Exempt below category of products that are:
    - Subjected to other specific technical regulations such as TR CU 010/2011, TR CU 011/2011,
      and TR СU 012/2011 excluding cables, wires, cor
    - Manufactured for internal needs of legal entities which are not intended for sale, renting, lending or leasing etc.
    - Components of low-voltage equipment which are not available to end-user as a good
    - Components (connectors, winding wires, circuit boards, microswitches, etc.) whose safety can only be checked
      as part of an end device
  • Re-define the term of “low-voltage equipment “as “Electrical equipment, for which the rated voltage (except for spark discharge impulse voltage) does not exceed 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC at all inputs and outputs"


EEC Amended the TR CU 020/2011 "Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Equipment"

On June 10, 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) released Decision No. 91, which amended the technical regulation "Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Equipment " (TR CU 020/2011). The main change is to exempt below category of products that are:

  • Passive with respect to electromagnetic compatibility
  • Specially designed for safety in the field of the use of atomic energy
  • Medical devices
  • Specially designed for defense purposes

Senegal ARTP Updated the Regulations for SRD

Currently, L'Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications et des Postes (ARTP) updated the regulations No. 2022-004 for SRD (Short Range Devices), which includes:

  • Open 24.05-24.5 GHz and 77-81 GHz frequency bands for Road Transport and Traffic Telematics (RTTT)
  • Allow 57-64 GHz frequency band for non-specific applications, e.g. telemetry instruments, remote controls, alarms etc.
  • 6000-8500 MHz for non-specific applications, including Ultra-wideband (UWB)
  • Allow more bands for inductive applications
  • Allow more bands for radiodetermination, TLPR, and TLP

TISI released New Compulsory Standard TIS 62368 Book 1-2561

On April 26, 2022, Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) released new compulsory standard TIS 62368 Book 1-2561, which is adapted from IEC 62368-1: 2018 and includes 20 kinds of Audio/Video products as shown in below table. The standard will enforce in 180 days after the publication in Government Gazette. Only Power supply for smart phone and tablets will enforce in 480 days after the publication in Government Gazette.
