Quantitative Determination of 7 Fat-soluble Vitamins in Multivitamin Tablets by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

A LC-ESI-MS/MS method for the simultaneous determination of 7 fat-soluble vitamins including vitamin A (retinal), vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol), vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), vitamin E (tocopherol-α, γ and δ), vitamin K1, in multivitamin tablets was developed and validated. The separation was accomplished on a Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C8 (150 mm x 4.6 mm) reversed phase column with methanol in an aqueous solution of formic acid (0.1%) as mobile phase under isocratic elution mode. LC/MS/MS analysis by positive electrospray ionization (ESI+) was applied.

 

Multiple reaction monitoring of two transition reactions for each compound. Sensitivity, precision, and accuracy were determined.
