Published on Feb 28, 2023, in the Federal Register, the FCC formally adopts final rules, effective Mar 30, 2023, establishing a comprehensive and coordinated nationwide approach to managing the 4.9 GHz (4,940-4,990 MHz) band to be amended to Part 90 to allow for secondary, non-public safety use, i.e., 5G band n79, while still maintaining its primary status as a public safety spectrum.

In the 81st Conformity Assessment Meeting of Telecommunications Terminal Equipment and Low-Power RF Devices held on Dec 2, 2022, a conclusion was reached regarding the certification of low-power RF devices including single modules (components) and limited terminal equipment that all applicants are to submit antenna technical specification documents or test reports (Antenna Test Rpoert, AUT Report) per FCC KDB 353028 and the FCC TCB WorkShop_Part 15 Antenna Update published on Oct 26, 2022.
