TAIWAN RoHS:SECTION 5 “MARKING OF PRESENCE” OF CNS 15663
In response to the environmental trends in international trade and to the achievement of the equivalent of international environmental standards for goods sold domestically, a new CNS 15663 Section 5 "Marking of presence" of guidance to reduction of the restricted chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipments" test requirements has been added. As of July 1, 2017, RoHS in Taiwan is mandatory, i.e., electrical and electronic equipment must meet the original inspection standards and RoHS to obtain the BSMI certificate.
Scope of "guidance to reduction of the restricted chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipments":Electrical and electronic equipment with a voltage below AC 1000 V or DC 1500 V. Restricteded substances and limits: Lead and its compounds, mercury and their compounds, hexavalent chromium compounds, PBBs and PBDEs are all limited to 1000 ppm, with the exception of the 100 ppm limit for Cadmium and its compounds.
Subject to section 5 of the inspection standard CNS 15663, "Marking of presence", the content of restricted substances shall be marked in the ontology, packaging, label or specification of the listed commodity. However, where the content of a restricted substance is provided (exposed) by means of a web page, the web site should be explicitly recorded in the body, package, label or instruction. Its location does not apply to section 5.3 of CNS 15663.
